PEOPLE IMPACTED

We have impacted over 1,300 people in the community through our Community Development efforts in Fonds Bayard.

There are many ways to fight poverty.

Our Community Development program was designed in partnership with the community to respond to needs they identified as being most important. We make a difference by making it our mission to use our support systems to connect experts to local needs.

Through this program we have been able to respond to disasters such as Hurricane Matthew, support medical clinics and local agriculture, provide citizenship papers for refugees, and offer interest-free loans for future entrepreneurs. Fueled by our deep love for Haiti and our commitment to strong and healthy communities,  we are ready and able to respond with flexibility, doing what it takes to make a lasting impact.

POVERTY IS COMPLEX, MAKING A DIFFERENCE ISN’T

Infrastructure

Haiti is no stranger to natural disasters or lack of infrastructure.  When Hurricane Matthew slammed through Haiti with incredible force, we got to work right away creating a plan to make sure every dollar raised was used in a way that would aid  long-term recovery. We continue to build and support local systems that strengthen community infrastructure.

Independence

Many of the victims of the 2015 deportation crisis on the Island of Hispaniola, were left without official papers. This meant they had no proof they were citizens of Haiti or the Dominican Republic. As a refugee, these folks were unable to enroll their kids in school, buy land, or open a business. The first step to independence and empowerment is citizenship. REBUILD globally is committed to independence and freedom.

Income Generation

Income generation is the best and most sustainable way we have found to build a community. In addition to our paid job training program, REBUILD globally has created other income generating activities to support the community. We invest in agricultural, social entrepreneurial, and animal husbandry projects to create new streams of income.
